September 2007: My first article on the magazine! THE RIGHT TO BE BORN HEALTHY!

in 2006 will be over 540. 000 children under the age of 15 have contracted the HIV virus. Over 90% of these children come into direct contact with the virus at birth to show "vertical" by HIV-positive mothers.

The number of children who become HIV positive every year could be more than halved if pregnant women with HIV received a package of antenatal care services, including antiretroviral drugs that slow the advent of the actual disease (AIDS ). Expanding access to services provided by programs to prevent mother to child transmission of the virus is one of the four pillars (the "Four P ") of the Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS", launched 25 October 2005 by UNICEF, UNAIDS and other partners with the ultimate goal of a generation free from HIV / AIDS. The other 3 P aim to achieve progress in the fields of primary prevention of pediatric care and protection of children affected by AIDS - and are vital to reverse the impact of the disease.

In Latin America and the Caribbean, and the objective 'to provide adequate services to 100% of women who need them. Unfortunately, currently less than 30% of women who need those services actually benefit from it. 22 of the 24 countries of the region showed a HIV prevalence around al 1% tra le donne incinta.
Nonostante esistano interventi efficaci, ogni anno centinaia di migliaia di bambini nascono con l'HIV, e molti di essi muoiono nel corso del primo year of life, "says Nils Kastberg, UNICEF Executive Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. Accelerating coverage of HIV / AIDS in the countries most in need and provide long-term antiretroviral treatment to keep mothers HIV in good health are the bulwarks of UNICEF at the regional level.

The answer to the prevention of vertical transmission at the regional and 'varied and extended, must be from increasing the availability' of HIV testing for pregnant women, including access to counseling services for HIV-positive women, to 'invest in research on alternative methods of nutrition breastfeeding breastfeeding for HIV-positive pregnant women.
One of the most 'successful UNICEF in this field and' alliance LSS - Lazos Sur Sur (South-South Laces) - from September 2004 that he committed at the forefront of the Brazilian government. Through the National Program of AIDS, the government has' committed to providing universal access to antiretroviral treatment in Bolivia, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Sao Tome and Principe, and Timor-Leste, the countries with the lowest common denominator - HIV prevalence and 'relatively low and potentially controllable. LSS The initiative is inspired to a model of human rights, quite innovative, based on responsibility, ' autonomy and collaboration by the governments of participating countries.
The initiative aims to achieve universal access to prevention, treatment and care, based dul right of every people to learn how to protect themselves from HIV, to know their HIV status, receive counseling before and after HIV test, receive care and treatment services to prevent transmission of the virus.

Since then, significant progress has been achieved mainly because 'the majority of governments have pledged to institutionalize programs to prevent vertical transmission of the process common services in health systems premises.
There is a significant and positive change in most 'of 10 out of 24 countries in the region - Ecuador, Peru, Guyana, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, El Salvador, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Cuba - where 80% of pregnant women acceddono regular services to prevent transmission verticlae and are willing to take an HIV test, thus making 'feasible the achievement of 100% by 2010. Despite the figures give a positive view of the current situation, major inequities exist in the region, considering that in Ecuador and Bolivia only 30% of pregnant women regularly enjoys the services of prevention of vertical transmission.

With LSS, Nicaragua and Bolivia have institutionalized a National Strategic Plan to combat the epidemic. Nicaragua in particular has initiated the first delivery of antiretroviral treatment in the region and training of staff of the health system. Today 10 out of 17 regions of the country Nicaraguan offer services for the prevention of vertical transmission and 50 out of 153 municipalities have an HIV test available with a 400% increase of the application of the test nationwide. Paraguay has significantly expanded the program to prevent vertical transmission in all 18 health regions going from 4 709 to 35 000 pregnant women exposed to HIV tests, which implies an increase of 300%.
In Guatemala, in the capital, the project of the Clinical Hospital 17 Roosevelt, funded by the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, offers free HIV tests to more 'of
11. 000 people, and antiretroviral treatment to 1. 500 patients and 50 HIV-positive children. The situation has improved in the clinic 17 so that the rate of vertical transmission and 'becoming similar to that of Toronto, Canada.

of the leading countries of the regional response, Brazil is closer 'to all the objective of the campaign - reach 100% between 1996 and 2005 cases of vertical transmission decreased by 51.5% (669 cases in 2004, 530 cases in 2005, 109 in June 2006). Despite the improvements, a strong disparity 'access to preventive services vertical continues to be among the regions of the country: in the north-east 35% of pregnant women received the test during prenatal care, while the rest of the country there is a coverage of 63%.

The fragility 'of health systems and insufficient number of health care professionals, medicine and adequate equipment are the major obstacles for the dissemination and expansion of programs to prevent vertical transmission in the region. In addition, local communities are not always involved in planning and implementing programs.

At the regional level, funds to fight HIV / AIDS from donor countries have increased significantly in recent years, however, children have not yet received their fair share. UNICEF advocacy continues to do so that 'donors can invest more' programs for children, in this case the prevention of mother to child transmission, so that 'every child in the future with the right to be born healthy, without the risk of contracting HIV. BOX - How communication can 'reduce the risk of vertical transmission: the case of Ecuador

' s 0.3% of Ecuadorian women and 'HIV and 1,000 children are at risk of contracting the virus through vertical transmission. During the second half of 2006, the advertising agency 'Norlop JWT, together with UNICEF and the Ministry of Health, have developed a public communication campaign to spread awareness across the country to prevent vertical transmission and to encourage public perform HIV testing on a voluntary and confidential. An innovative commercials for radio and television has marked the sign: it shows a father who, while kissing the belly of his pregnant wife, and 'encouraged by his baby' in the belly to support the woman to get an HIV test. The initiative was strongly aware of the population by duplicating the number of HIV tests performed on pregnant women: from 7,132 in the first half 'of 2006 and' came to 12,656 in the second half '. This' can show that more 'than 50% of Ecuadorian pregnant women wanted to know more' about their health. It is estimated that 170 women in Ecuador are HIV-positive pregnant and that 148 of them receive antiretroviral treatment, thus reducing 'the number of Ecuadorian children who might have been born HIV positive. The case of 'Ecuador shows us how the alliance with the private sector and the media comunicaizone is an essential component for effective primary prevention.

September 2007: Telling stories in Peru!

My dear compatriots, friends, near and far!

for those who are wondering what happened to I've done since I left Rome that "far away" 13 July (for the umpteenth time to risk losing my plane - running and sweating, a big thank you to Damian that and 'was the key turning point!).

I made the sweet end to those who return to work in the field and must get used to the pace, content, climate, goals, food, in other words - real life - after the holidays!
Not to mention that in less than two months I have changed three scenarios at the same time
- 1. a stop-over Habana in Cuba for two and a half days super intense with lots of tears at the start to be separated from the family that had hosted me (early in the travelogue Cuban);
- 2. a quiet landing in Panama, I renewed the contract for another year, although I realize that I live in a free port where nothing 'real, but all' built to give pleasure to do business, to trade ... . a haven in the midst of campaigns if left to 'the same and where people live on $ 200 a month;
- 3. a meeting with Peru ', this country melancholy and introspective .... from about 15 days I find myself at once to make terms with life in Lima. The book by Mario Vargas Llosa (recently read) "Travesuras de la nina mala" I was prepared for this period of work-life Peruvian lasts 6 weeks.

My adaptation to the city 'of the mists in the middle of the desert and the Peruvian' strong state. It's not every day to go from 35 to 15 degrees with a lot of colds. Lima 'a city' hard for the climate and size. It has a constant gray hood (Milan style) and an area of \u200b\u200balmost 10 million inhabitants. To get out of here, it takes at least three hours - through dilapidated neighborhoods - a few days ago we moved from the suburbs - slums for slum built on mounds ephemeral. Houses built one brick on another, with aluminum roofs that combine a wire hanging clothes to another, and those who live and 'without heating (and we are at 15 degrees with a humidity ' crazy, let's talk !)... Do not know what a heater!

And waiting for the day when the sun retorno, an expectation of fear - say the cloudy sky and a curse of the Incas, Lima to condemn to be the cause of contamination in urban Peru '. Waiting for the sun in fear 'cause when comes out of the cloud cover and' bearer of a mystical message of the Gods - and generally a 'sign of imbalances and changes - the last time and' out the sun and blue sky in Lima ' was August 15 - after half an hour and the earth 'movement, the result of the earthquake of 9 degrees.

They say that Lima has the most 'high suicide rate of all South America, 'cause here - you have to work like a nigger to live like a white-and under a sunless sky. The other day for the first time I spoke with a person who has attempted suicide several times ... it was a taxi driver without suceso lively, a young man who had nervous problems and knows all about natural remedies for the heart. Meetings touching!

Lima 'urbe a tough but elegant, "La ciudad de los reyes" - Baroque and culturally vibrant - Panama after the trade, I am surprised the cultural offer - a thousand concerts and activities. The kitchen and 'gourmet chef has the primacy of the capital of South America, close to Mediterranean cuisine, based on healthy ingredients - oil, lemon, fresh fish, vegetables and 100 styles other than potatoes and peppers.

For the first time in my life, I am in the midst of a social investigation - a great professional challenge. For the first time will develop 'an exploratory investigation of the factors that enable children and adolescents to access health services and treatment antirretrovirale (for HIV). This is not the constant-gardener-like effect opines my brother, but sometimes it seems to me to be in the middle of a movie, when we meet with health personnel, with the activists, with their mothers and fathers.
After two weeks of reading and study of protocols and studies, we began with interviews with experts and targeted companies' civilians, including families and people living with HIV. Tonight we start Ucayali and then to Chachapoyas (no, not the names of cartoon characters, are the names of the capitals of the regions of Amazonas y Pucallpa - the jungle frontier with Bolivia and Brazil). In short, a periodino intense and interesting, in which practically live for the job. Accompanied me in the undertaking of a Peruvian lords about 40 years, petite and vivacious, and that 'doctor.

So, I continue to tell and tell, music, cumbia and Pasha, the pledge (aka - the milonga Peruvian), the ceviche, melancholy eyes of the people and solid, the energy of medicinal herbs of the Andes, the leaves of coca, but I'll stop here 'cause I have to sew before leaving for the forest.

I seem to live several lifetimes in of my own, here and now this!

I leave you with a song that made me feel the value-telling stories - the importance of telling stories at this time that flies and turns at every instant in 100 different ways!

almost once a week and I rent a bicycle around the Causeway, the waterfront of Panama, with the music of my big hermano Angelo, ears, dream and think and wonder
on two wheels and enjoy the sea \u200b\u200bbreeze .... and admire the spectacle of 1000 InPage Cruceros ships and sails and passing and elegant slow

Maybe that's why the English of Panama and 'always compared or approached that of Cuba or Puerto Rico, because it' s great, it sounds a little 'aggressive ....

Emotionally I'm finally a little '+ stable, because in January I spent a period of psychological DOWN, one of those moments when doubts assail you uic, unanswered questions, concerns, basically' cause the brain goes into a sort of short- track down l [darkness'.... Despite all these moments are lived in full, so 'like happy,' cause the moments more 'dark, you can draw motivation for this' you are and what' you want, and above all respect your strength ....

short the last two months have been a sort of rite of passage-final-between my arrival and my restart here, the curve of the news 'and' gone and I realize what I have at hand, what waiting for me .... in Part I of unfulfilled expectations, but that 's normal .... on the other hand, I have several wishes, flower than this time in Panama .... for now i do not plan too .... Thank You Letter To Church After Funeral

November 13 O6: catch up with my birthday and Honduras!

The mission was intended to make a diagnosis of the situation of the national community 'of women and black Afro-compared to the HIV / AIDS, identify weaknesses and the strengths on which to leverage to reduce the spread of the virus and strengthen community leadership '.
The head of the work and 'Epsy Campbell, a black woman, Leader and Coordinator of the Black Parliament of the Americas. Before you get in politics, Epsy played the saxophone for 10 years. Everything 'which invests it with passion and intensity' and joy, and his public speeches always make me shudder because 'they have a vision holistic, spiritual and vibrant of all content. On the evening of celebration in the School of Human Rights of Afro-Colombian leaders, Epsy remember the ancestors, the steps taken by the same ancestors and the need 'to remember with joy. Why 'death and' for the black race festaggiamento reason, just because 'is closely linked to life.

PRMI 3 days I have passed the mission hard 'cause waking up at 6 every morning to go for 3 or 4 hours a unpaved road, including streams and mounds, to the community' of Ciriboya, Cusuna and La Playa, before arriving Irion and in Battal, the door of Mosquitia, and that 'the rainforest of Honduras, all compared to Africa of Central America.
communities' views are + or less 6000 people without access to electricity, drinking water, to public health services, the last few months have built the first school, near a huge tree. First classes were held cool under this tree.

meetings with the communities' were held outdoors in the countryside, in the presence of the mayor, school teachers and school director. People have a certain look tired but curious eyes are full of questions and imagination. The theme of the meeting and 'explore the theme of AIDS in their society', as the levels of incidence of the virus are higher in communities 'and Afro-there' said the 20 years between the blacks disappear from the earth for it. From
dialogue, questions, answers, he noted the presence of so many needs' that went beyond the basic need to prevent the virus. I realize that there is' a huge gap between the development policies of the organizations int. And institutions and the real state of the people living in such conditions. And the bridge between the two is difficult to build for several reasons: the Afro-cultural actors are born, they behave differently from us and other codes; communicative messages come from too many sources of information and are lost along the way, until it is incorporated in an evil way, the practical-needs' are too elementary, political and political leaders are not interested. We have seen
to Graduacion / Diplomatura Leaders of Afro-School of Human Rights, with lots of dancing and ceremony, in which most 'times Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela were appointed and recalled with fervor.

The days have been more tegu 'officers, with three meetings with other Deputies of the Honduran Parliament, the representative of UNICEF, the wife of the president, and some NGOs. I have found short in the midst of big shots, but I learned to be myself and not take me by e-performance anxiety-from inferiority complex 'because they are always the most' giovanicella group. E-

was also wonderful to meet the friends of the NGO Libre Expresion: remembering the children, Perez, Marisela y Tania ... review photos resulting from the project that I created ... recognize the strength of Wendy, a girl of 20 years now and Honduran-ordinator of the NGO
the street a woman stops me, calling me across the street, I do not recognize ... and 'the woman cleaning the office which has become a double and greets me with love and smiles ...

It 's not changed anything in tegu, the same chaos, the same dust, same sky, same night lights that turn into princess of the night ... when the plane flew over the green mounds of Honduras, the heart and 'filled with emotion ... as if the experience of the past had made a dive into this and with joy in front of my eyes are past several frames, la mia casa con il balcone sulla valle, il parco dove andavo a correre, la donne che vendeva i fiori all'angolo, le serate con Mijke a parlare della vita sul balcone, le prime sfide al lavoro, l'evento musicale nella piazza, etc...

Ritornare in Honduras mi ha in un certo made sense to understand that cooperation can 'really do very little to the development of a country, especially if you replace the role of the State should take the responbialita' public to ensure the welfare of his people and development.

I saw people at work, the majority and I 'looked aged, somewhat resigned, a little demoralized ... as petrified in their offices ... what a strange feeling!

In some sense this visit to Honduras, how nice bitterness on the one hand, and other consciousness of time:
- bitter, bitter taste in my mouth for a country that is in a sense, crystallized in the mechanisms of cooperaiozne, the comings and goings of funds to NGOs who suck big donors, they do a workshop and let people almost as before, bitterness and resignation that oozes from the skin of this earth;
- consciousness of time and relativism, as we choose to live ... I spent half a year in Honduras, and after half an hour I was in Tegucigalpa, and wandered in search of signs that make me feel at home, I have wondered: How the heck did I live there 'for so long??

The answer is' that every place and 'what' that live inside ... so that even a place with no stimuli, basically flat and monotonous becomes vibrant and colorful if you live it intensely and gifts enthusiasm and passion to what 'you do. So at the end of the Honduras prorpio gave me this vision on. Realistic, optimistic in life ... a friend cooperante dell'Honduras diceva: Tegucigalpa e' come uno specchio, e' come sei tu dentro!....

e vi abbraccio ad uno ad uno

Symptoms Of Bladder Polyps If They Are Cancerous

December 2006: First Latin Christmas with sweat!

Hola My beautiful .... (Foreshadowing that the email and 'longish ...' cause lot of things happened ... so for those who do not have time, I recommend printing ...)

Panama in December began with thousands of lights and I invested in University cinema audience with colleagues the new documentary produced by MTV Latin America and UNICEF.

since I returned from Honduras, my life had a rhythm, for various maturities in the office and for organizing the event commemorating the first of December, which as already know, and 'World AIDS Day : I have coordinated with another Anna, Belgrade, (then we made friends with whom) the presentation of the documentary "Confesion a diary" (go to link: Launched in August by MTV and UNICEF in order to portray the situation of youth 'social problems of Latin America and the investing daily, including AIDS. The projection was in the cinema hall + large public universities in Panama, deliberately chosen to reach a large number of young people, so it was ... and after there was a session of questions and answers ... in short, the stress is gone to see the result!!
To browse a bit 'during the campaign, go to the link with the UNICEF campaign that I am following in Latin America and Shakira, er Totti, Paolo Maldini as embassadors-and-speakers .... link to http://www.unicef.org/lac/overview_4168.htm

Last Thursday I went to the Conference of Patch Adams, the doctor's nose clown, who came to visit some hospitals in Panama.
To read the interview in English that we did, visit the link: http://www.unicef.org/lac/media_7023.htm

... Patch Adams, interests! He has sixty annni, but great energy and enthusiasm ... preaches love as a way of life and says her vitìa changed when they decided not to complain +, and loving every situation and every person who appeared before .... criticized the United Nations, saying that if they were an army of clowns conil-red nose, perhaps otterebbero + results - and that money ruins people that is in it ... has also pointed out the very-compassionate, on the absurdity that no medical school in the world has in its academic program, the compassion and empathy, as a school subject ... said that three things are essential in life: 's intention, which must be clear and clean, the resulting performance (action) and take into account the consequences ... in short, is not the discovery of hot water, but confirmation of Buddhist principles.
During the conference, also showed video of children with disabilities around the world, the children invited on stage in a wheelchair and sick with cancer, and then make them laugh by putting on a clown suit. In short, Robin Williams plays the character beautifully adult at the bottom and 'a Great Peter Pan della vita... e ci insegna a non –ingrigirsi- mai dietro alle maschere della professione, e dei soldi o delle targhette sulle porte, ma di continuare a nutrire il nostro spirito di ricerca e l'amore per l'umanità.

Due giorni fa è venuta a salutarmi Maria, la donna peruviana che avevo conosciuto i primi giorni per strada qui nel Casco viejo.... partiva ieri per il Messico in cerca di fortuna con il suo bambino Scott... ma non partivano in aereo, stanno viaggiando per terra, senza permesso di soggiorno.... ciò significa pagare il cosiddetto –coyote- (o magnaccio...detto nel nostro linguaggio popolare) per poter attraversare la frontiera... vanno in Messico perchè qui ha perso il lavoro e perchè il bimbo ha il visto American (his father is American ).... short story every day for many people struggling to find prosperity in this land ... I gave Scott a six disposable cameras so that he can retract his special experience of crossing the Central American land, can focus on his dreams, expectations, fears over this trip, photographing her suitcase, and as part how it gets ... the idea is that then he send me the negatives and photographs of the schools I publish the story in a book from which they derive income for his studies ... we'll see who comes out ... In short, we said goodbye and wished each other a lot SUERTE ... she says, "I'm calm because you have given us many positive expectations ...." and the next day, I wake up, I open the door and found behind a box with a phone number above ... in the box were all the photographs of Mary's life when he lived in Peru, when Scott was born, when they lived in Miami ... I did not understand why at the beginning of his act .... then I caught ... she leaves in my hands part of the wire that is drawing in his life ... leaves me with its past, and will fire snapshots of his present ... and then these, once started, is reunification with the past ... In short, I do not know if it's one of my films, but it seems a very, very strong gesture on his part .... almost to want to say-protect what has been ...-

This will be my first Christmas Land America ... is really strange to see the red and yellow lights around the trees, and sweating in the heat ... It is as if the brain says, - there is something wrong ?"... is a Christmas atmosphere, which has its own charm .... three days ago made a great feast in the main square, next to the waterfront , to turn a huge tree, (clearly sponsorised by Coca Cola ...) just like they do in New York in Times Square, ... the series: "The American dream continues to generate drafts" and then ... each park, there are the puppets and sheep, in general, the symbols + Christmas here seem happy and playful, easy-going and why are all made of ceramic or colored lights above ... have already put the Magi, three colored men that look like dwarfs funny and awkward ... while we are riding the Omoni ... that's fun to see how they change shapes and colors here!
For now the plan is to go Christmas vacation in the mountains, just to stay around in the European theme-of-house warm in the cold outside ... probably be close to the border with Costa Rica in the area of \u200b\u200bBoquete, with the group of those who are not lucky enough to go home with your family ... we should rent a cottage, the area is famous for volcanoes and green hills ... but since here we can easily change the plan, it is said that at the last bait out a beach ...
So we will see that I reserve my first Christmas away from home, and you combine that?!

Today's full moon here, the night is wonderful, I have seen and enjoyed the first sunset on the waterfront of Panama, at last, after adjusting + or not the house, I can feel the karma of the place-where I'm living ... rincoferma is the view of Panama as a NO PLACE as a center of trade, exchange of goods, shops and services ... we say that could be a perfect mix between a young Milan (for the development of the services and elegance) and a Latin city and the sea sparkling Caribbean ... Many compare Panama to Miami, but fortunately you can breathe here + Latin spirit ... a fraternal spirit, cheerful, resigned but tasty ... normally I'm going to run to the Causeway, which is the last piece of waterfront, a sort of strip of coastline dotted with palm trees, which ends on an island green ... is a nice way, because on the one hand you see the Bridge of the Americas (which I like too) and the other the Casco Viejo, MY BARRIO, which is small and cute ...
Today Sunday, I was running there, then returning home I was attracted by the notes coming from the Teatro Anita Villalaz, always in Casco Viejo, and I came ... There was a folk spettacoo of children with typical clothes and live music ... it was fun, ... Panamanian local music is a mix of African (Caribbean) and South American, they say that Carnival is very strong here, and which is organized by a party name CONGO ... basic tools are the congas, guitar, accordion ...

And today I learned that Friday 'send me to Nicaragua to help the home to the country for the event "IV Festivakl of Radio and Television of children and adolescents ... that will be featured 24 hours of broadcasts on Childhood / AIDS / Human Rights ... In short, I do not have time to relax in Panama, I have to travel .... but I can not but be glad, because I like troppooooooooo!

I hope I've provided a little taste of the place ... ITALY is very, very popular here ... we are very well liked in every corner of the world ... why people feel our heat ... with this, non voglio Peccare di nazionalismo, ma ahimè!

November 4, 2006: Installation in the old town of Casco Viejo Panama!

Ciao a tutti!

Giusto per descrivervi Poquito as an apartment, the floor is red brick, has a balcony on the road, which turns the night watch, which has a mezzanine accessed via a small staircase, and finally a kitchen that inspired lunches and dinners succulent! Well I am happy with the result of my research! ... And of course you are all invited to come see me!

The transfer was all a movie, because in the end I helped a friend of a Buddhist friend. The type is called Gaetano, has Sicilian roots, but everyone calls him Chinese, and little strong, and we went around all day Saturday with his pick-up, red pickup truck, carrying suitcases and furniture. We looked like a company of thieves Mafia the streets of the historic center.

After installation in the house, begin to breathe a bit 'more' ... What should he do it on purpose the pace at work has become urgent, I am organizing the launch of a video produced by MTV Latin America and UNICEF, a documentary that is evidence of young Latin Americans about their experience of living with AIDS. It will be an event with journalists and the general public.
Then I'm taking care of a publication on the situation of children and human rights in Latin America, I should finish by the end of November! Finally, I organized a mission in Honduras, the day after birth on Thursday '. Accompany a consultant will visit Costa Rica and the Afro-Garifuna organizations dell'Honduras...

There are two guys in Milan, one of Altamura, who have opened a bed and brakfast cute, and sometimes by their step-by-scrounge some delicious ... I usually go to swim in their beautiful pool, and the last time I was also given the oil from Puglia! Yeeeeehhhhhh!

So I have now adapted almost completely, I open myself more to my second great experience in TerrAmerica, with a pace more relaxed, mature, interesting and vibrant.

So, although this year I'll skip the second time the Italian winter, I can tell you that sometimes dream of sleeping under the blankets in the warm, while outside is cold or raining ...

But now I am sweating to get up at 4 o'clock at night, sometimes having to turn the air conditioning or open windows ... Why do people die !!!!!!... and then wake with the dawn light navy, while the birds start the day and the ice cream vendor's bell starts to play nice and shouting: "Helados para todos!" and I between a coffee and a shower, run to the office and go you start! It 'nice to feel independent again and I'm giving 100% at work ... I want to grow ...

So, in short, I greet you before you leave and I hope the best for you in November !!!!!!
Besos abrazos

Noviembre 2006: Sobre la vida y la muerte!

Hola lindos!

back from a 3 days regional meetings with 250 women and girls living with HIV whose objective was to propose a plan for reducing the impact of the epidemic and the problem of view-feminizazion-, that 'the high rate of HIV infection among women and Latin Caribbean, due to vulnerability factors 'such as domestic violence, poverty', unemployment, sexual practice of heterogeneous migrant women prostitutes and ...

and 'was much too exciting, but also strong and sometimes hard ... emotional and psychological ... see the signs of the disease in their eyes and their body ... that you can only respond with encouragement, smile, hug and dialogue at the heart ... I saw people I have worked in Honduras that and 'become half of what it was, or who developed skin cancer or so-called apple shape (swollen belly with no sides, a side effect of virus growth in the body) and you realize how time in their case is an hourglass or a dropper ... while for many of us might be time to bite an apple to eat, for them it is just a slice!

I worked on the coordination of the group of girls and teens from all over the Latin, were Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, guatemaltehche, Brazil (too much pussy and fun!) Between 5 and 18 years ... in addition to the recreational I took part in the workshops so that 'the girls could propose actions to be taken and need to show their 'priority!
actually 'these girls have never really lived their childhood, are already' mature, some already 'mothers and leaders and spokesmen of their rights in their communities'!!!! With a strength and a courage that we do not care!
"We do not feel ill, we live only a particular situation in life ...!" said one of them, 16 year old single mother, orphan ... and we who create our good mental illnesses more often ...

and one day I was sitting next to another Guatemalan girl with whom I've linked to me in particular and the baby takes the palm of the hand and quietly wrote to me on the palm with a pen " Usted con el VIH lives? "You have AIDS? ... And I smile and say No, but '" es como el VIH live with you,' and 'Like I'm living with HIV,' cause I can feel their lives when they are next ...

I saw the people of Honduras, and dungeon! I remember everything, women who had seen me in 2004 and as if we had known forever .. . with whom we have close to my heart ... some did not think I'd never gone Honduras ... and then we were advised of the sudden death of a fellow worker Honduran, Juan Ramon, who was also panned by ` HIV! ... we were all moved, but not in words, leaves behind 'a woman and two girls!

and' the struggle continues, Once again, I realize that "to live intensely, it should die a thousand times in life!" ... Renaissance ... I feel recharged after the meeting ... although a bit 'empty,' cause after 4 days 100% data, today I ride with my shoulder and say "what now?" ... and now again!

The meeting filled me with emotions, but also of great vitality 'and conviction to follow the path that I have undertaken ... as well as' fun to be back working in the field ...
communication for development in the vulnerable child, I like to work for "los nignos!" 'cause it allows me to protect Nign que llevar inside (the little girl inside me!)

The nicontro and' finished with A formal declaration of commitment and a collective show with two singers from Argentina, 80s style, too strong, I think both transsexuals and bisexuals, who composed a song for women with HIV ... with Daniela Mercury, Julieta Venegas y Ruben Blades, who are famous singers + here in Latin America!

Finally, I am attaching some photos with the girls and a group at the Channel (where I have my eyes closed ...) I ask you clearly do not disseminate or publish the photos, to respect the privacy of living with nignas 'HIV!

A big hug and LONG LIVE THE LIFE!

September 2006: after landing in Panama!

Hola my lovely! Here in the office
como I feel if I were in a sort of UNICEF MALL, because there 's all there are the exhibition spaces dedicated to children with art and photography exhibitions (!!!), there' Shop UNICEF, the same that is found in Rome close to Via Nazionale, c ' and 'a small café and lovely, and a terrace for the smokers on that green lawn. In all five floors of softness!
Without a doubt, and 'a situation priviliegiati! That bothers me a bit 'for obvious moral reasons that I am not here to explain ... but I can imagine! however, I realize that at these levels of professionalism 'and organizational structure, UNICEF despite being a super international organization visible in and around the world' at the same level of a multinational NO PROFIT FOR CHILDREN ... and 'interesting understand the subtle boundaries that distinguish one international organization by a Procter and Gamble and Nike ... I believe NOTHING at the organizational level, in terms of purpose 'and humanity and I think a lot ...
However, yesterday I visited the Casco Viejo, all in colonial style. It grows on the tip of the coast, almost like a big pier building beautiful, colorful, narrow streets and stone lanterns, and 'pleasant to walk, you breathe that air that brings me closer to the heart of historic Italian! and between efidicio and the other, you can see the skyline of the City ... so 'can you imagine that flash! (Pictures soon!) The helmet has a great potential, because they're all fully restored. In some areas there are collapsing buildings, where Caribbean poor families live, so not all of the Old and 'safe. And also 'the bohemian area, there' a coffee 'jazz, and an inn where art exhibit .... really! my nose had seen well> and 'definitely' part of town 'that does for me ... already 'know what they are ancient and enchanting!
Yesterday I was at the Kaikan, flashon more! And 'huge and there is an air well in Latin America. I welcome a man with no teeth smile from ear to ear and takes me to visit andthe center. Comes from a huge music hall, looks like a festival ... there are members who are preparing for the cultural show! In short ACTIVITY 'HERE IS ONE THOUSAND, reflects the soul of the city' and that 'in perpetual motion and regrowth, demonstrating there are the sites that pop up on one side and the other (+ are building the largest skyscraper in Latin America in the business area).
And then within the room where you daimoku, we approach the Butzudan great to drive and then I stopped aghast: the parchment of the Gohonzon is' FALSE !!!!! ie 'is reproduced by hand on a piece of cinnamon, with black ink ... I can not return back to talk to the man who tells me that the entry and 'normal,' cause "In Italy there are + money and then they 'have the Gohonzon true !!!!"
not know what to say!
well, and I warn that 'choffer arrived to pick up the bags ...
soon I write other impressions, while Panama and definitely 'the land of TRANSIT FOR EXCELLENCE, a NO / ALL, where all goods, people, go for a moment and off you go!
in this step and leave marks and exchange souls!
a collective embrace

September 2006: First landing in Panama! Skyscrapers

Hello my dear!
sorry for my silence these days, but I took a break from the PC this weekend and I've been around to see houses ... I found one which is' right in front of the Paseo de las Bovedas, a small avenue with trees and flowers, the typical romantic walk by the sea, with the skyline on the horizon and the colonial buildings to your right ... It 'definitely the best point of the Casco Viejo. The house 'loft, with hardwood floors, mobili carini...
At work so much to read, much to understand, so as to react ... but I try not to stress! Each involves a start-reacomodacion-, inevitable transition, more 'and' the first time I work in full Inglese and spanish. Fortunately, the theme (Vulnerable children, human rights and HIV / AIDS) I am very interested and I gia'una gained some experience in Honduras. As luck would see again that 'most people I have worked in Honduras. Next month there will be 'the regional meeting of women and girls living with HIV, including a girl Libre expresion that will present' just the project I designed and coordinated along with Mijke and the team ... and I realize that "everything comes back to the source, that every fruit is not lost and that the circle is closed and closes when you open at the same time "other news ...> a lady made a donation to Ruvo Libre expresion ... things are moving with the time only if we have the patience to wait to know how!

This afternoon after work I will go 'to walk in a huge park, Omar, said that the tropical nature' is in bloom. I am too curious! So oxygen the lungs and spirit!

Then a big hug, and
"I MISS ITALY !!!!" ... it 's amazing how human nature has done so' ... that you always miss something ... when I was in Italy I missed the color and warmth of South America ... now I'm here I miss the history and romanticisimo Italian as well as clearly the people and my loved ones ... pero 'e' when the sails were already 'get up and you have to catch the winds of destiny, wherever they push! 'cause the wind seems to be at your back ....
