Praticamente impossibile al momento il calcolo delle vittime, ma secondo l'agenzia Kyodo News sarebbero più di mille. Per un primo conteggio affitabile si dovrà attendere sabato. Intorno alle 20 italiane (è notte in Giappone) altra forte scossa di assestamento di magnitudo 6 nella prefettura di Niigata nell’isola giapponese di Honshu. Poco prima l'Agenzia meteo nipponica aveva diramato un nuovo allerta tsunami.
